Started about a week and a half ago, creaking/scraping sound as wheel turns, like something is scraping wheel or wheel is scraping something under car as the wheel turns. So you hear the noise when it hits a certain point, so it's not continuous.Noise has started getting worse and It's louder when car is first started and cold, can't really hear it after car warms up. I think it might be a wheel bearing issue and it's booked into garage for Friday but I just want to know, what it might be and is it safe to drive? Don't want my wheel falling off

mine made a similar noise to what your describing when the shoes collapsed in the drum, cost £118 to have new shoes, fitting kit, adjuster fitted

bearings, if the noise is on full lock possibly outer cv joint
bearing is usually safe to drive on for a bit, mine locked up on the motorway though so take it easy
