I have recently bought a 2000 1.2 16v and it has a hesitation problem, seems to misfire/cut fuel when opening the throttle from coasting, for example in 5th gear at 40 with foot off the throttle, as you open the throttle it hesitates quite violently and then carrys on. It is less violent if the throttle is opened slowly. Doesn't make a difference which gear or road speed.
It does have a cheap MAF on it, fitted by a previous owner, could this not be helping? I serviced last week including new plugs so can hopefully rule those out.
Any thoughts on what I should look at first?
Cheers

Cheap MAF is highly likely, I bought one off ebay a while back and it made the car undriveable, every time you went to pull away it would bog down for a second or 2 then start to rev, your's sounds similar but not as bad. Autovaux is the best place to get a new one from, genuine part at less than half the price of Vauxhall, still works out to over £100 though
