over the last few weeks my gears 1-5 have become harder and harder to select whilst driving, had a look about and ordered a replacement linkage. But my minds telling me this isnt the problem, has anyone got any info that would be of any help its a 2000 1.6 sport

Clutch on the way out maybe.
Could be worth re aline it.

Mine does it all the time because i don't have one of those clips on my clutch cable to stop it loosening. Clutch cable should just need tightening, if that doesn't work then clutch is probably going.

how high is your clutch pedal? as it should be the same level as the brake pedal if not adjust the clutch cable til the same height
