Mine is OK, doesn't look the best but it's not got any major holes. You're right, I would probably expect it at that age.

Ian...

Tub the arches, GRP wide flares... chop the metal right back and go with 8" wide tyres or so.... they spray the whole thing white... then 2.0 turbo....

well they are in terms of factory production car standards "bodged" up out of standard panels and the wide bits. They arent formed proper panels, they still arent bad.

same as the lower arms are lengthened just using bits welded on the end of standard arms, it looks bodged, do you want me to find you a picture?

Update.

Went and got the Silver W reg(2nd link).

Only 1 arch has a cpl of rust spots so im going to treat them and give it a wee touch up for now once the weather gets better.Rest of the car seems fine.
Exhaust rear box is a tad loose so need to get under for a look.
VIN plate area behind the drivers seat is tip-top and the sills feel solid.
Other than that it drives straight and stops and goes fine.No nasty noises etc and is pretty smooth.Quite impressed with how quick it is too.
Window washers arent working though, but can hear the pump working so need to look into that.
Thinking about removing the headlights bulbs in favour of some candles, cant be any worse than they are just now.lol.
