looking at getting a cheap tripod (under £20) just wondered which is best to get? (for canon 400d)

spotted a few on the bay for around £15, any good?

was thinking about one of these..

it will be my first time actually using a dslr, but plan to take some pictures of a friends mk2 escort the weekend (early morning shots)

any tips for the camera settings?

Try and get a background that contrasts the colour of the car and try some panning shots, if you get the shutter speed right the car doesn't even need to moving that fast.

Actual settings is going to be a tough one, it will depend entirely on lighting and weather conditions but id try and shoot around F11-13 to get images nice and sharp.

if your using a tripod still shots will allow you to use low shutter speeds if needed so for general shot's I would use adam's guide of around F11-F13.

For detail shots and "Blurring the background" use F5.6-F7.1 range (providing your on a basic kit lens)
