I bought something from there today, but, before I paid for it, I asked the young moron at the till what their returns policy was if I brought the item back un-opened.

He didn’t know, and looked it up using their till system. He said that I had 14 days to bring it back un-opened for a full refund.

I've had issues with Comet in the past when it's come to returning something...so can anyone shed any light on if the above is true or not?

....reason being, because I think I might be returning it...

I'll look on the Comet site too, but i wanted to see if anyone can help me first hand.

What made the young man on the till a moron and a mong considering he was intuitive enough to know where to look for your information for you?

Whereas on the other hand you weren't able to use google.

Without reading the solution...

I worked at comet for a while... They have recently been rebranded but if It is the same as it was before then You can take it back without any problems... Just take the receipt and you will get the money either sent back to your card (takes up to 5 days) or get cash back
