With HID kits what makes the kit the specific k ie 6k 8k etc

meaning is it the ballast that is different or the bulb? Need a ballast at 10k rating I think, if I am correct as it's packed in

K rating is the colour temperature which is related to the bulb.

10k is purple.

Ah right so wouldn't matter what ballast I needed then aslong at it's for bi-xenon? I thought it was the ballast that charged the bulb up to specific k but guessing I am wrong?

Im sure when ordering its the bulb you specify, 6k, 8k etc
What k is it just now?
Best way is to phone and ask for a replacement ballast and they should know if the ballast is specific to the k (temp rating)

The ballast isn't specific, it's the bulb.

As far as I am aware they ment to be 10k just one side went dull and then off, switched ballasts around and it works again so deffo ballast, they all have the same connectors then? Only need one but might have to et a pair to match the colour

You should only need one ballast if its the bulb that determines the brightness, all ballasts are the same by what john says and just the bulbs that are different

New ballast and that should be it sorted. MJ on here sells HID kits and can supply spares too, slim ballasts aswell. Hes got a thread in classifieds
