the cam belt on the corsa has just snapped and was just wondering weather these engines a non inference engine ? any help would be appreciated thanks

No they arnt.

Know this from personal experience.

Plus point is that you can stick any B 1.4 8v head on, dont have to be SRi

As in if the valves come into contact with the pistons if the timing gets fucked up.

If a 2.0 8v goes for example, the valve clearance is so big that it can spin however it wants and you won't bend anything. That's what I've been told anyway.

i have various different posts some people say they are and some say not but for the sake of a belt mite give it a go with a new belt

I reckon it'll be goosed. I mistimed an sri years ago and smashed a valve

Stick a belt on it and turn it by hand, definetely worth finding out if it's fucked before stripping it.

will wack a new belt on at the weekend and see if the it has bent any valves could i just rebuild the head in the wort case

I think you can get any 1.4 8v head and just put on the sri inlet etc
