Also if there is low fuel won't it evaporate faster than a full tank, as there is more room for the gas?

Fuel tanks are sealed so it wont evaporate

Dont like filling it up because if it gets stolen they have futher to drive before they need to stop for petty in theory. Whereas if it has no juice they will have to stop at a local petty which has cameras etc.

Kind of makes sense to me

Paranoid much?

my vans fuel guage still reads when the key is out so if some chav walks past and sees it right on F they might go for it

I have a 70 litre tank. £20 will get about 15 litres at the moment. 55 litres of weight would be a massive 10 year old

It does evaporate into the tank space, why do you think occasionally you get a hissing when you open the cap, or why there is a charcoal canister

i only get a hiss from mine when its run extremly low and the tank is starting to vaccum.

My astra gsi has been sitting outside for 4 months with 1/4 of a tank of fuel, moved it into the garage today and its still got a 1/4 of a tank. So if petrol evaporates in a petrol tank, why hasnt mine?

The tank won't vacuum either as they have a breather, to stop vacuuming as it will implode

the weight does affect the way a car drive though, i'm sure of it.

i can definitely feel improved acceleration when i have less than 1/4 of a tank left.

That's quite bad, I got 110 out of less than that in the Disco. Was going to measure properly but I got some today in case I couldn't tomorrow.

That's about 70mpg, that must be sitting on the flat at 50mph constantly.
