Ive got a 1.4 16v sport which i recently put a engine in...

Engine was running sweet as a nut until it run out of petrol up my yard were it was kept, ive recently put £6 from jerry can into the tank and now it just turns over but dont fire?

And i cant really smell any fuel getting upto engine... and the bleed nipple bit dont let out any fuel?

So any idea what could be the problem?

Fuel filter could be blocked up if it ran dry, try changing it.

I will try that.. will one of a astra gsi fit, as i have a new one of them up the yard. If not ill get another one from motor factors.

yeah that will fit, they're pretty much all interchangeable in the vauxhall petrol series.

cool well actually i might just try one of another car up the yard 1st to make sure its that...

Also... to make sure the pump is working.. when i take the petrol filter of... and just have the pipe there.. can i turn it over, and if it is working.. it will come out wont it? petrol i mean.

Also bleed the fuel rail up as it may be air locked, just turn it over with the valve pressed in untill fuel squirts out.

So fuel was squirting out when you were turning over?

Was it coming out in bits or constant flow?

as i said mate, it kept falling out as noone as there to hold it lol but i dont think anythink come out, as i would of smelt it.

yeah i didnt open window, as didnt have much battery power left by then lol.. batterys been on charge last few hours lol

ive got it started this morning, i think it was to do with the filter, as i took that of, and it was still pumping fuel through... but turnt back of again after 10mins of running, and was hard to start again, it would start then die again... then take key out put back in.. and it would fire again... strange stuff.. all time u keep revs up... it would be ok...

and eml would flash other times as well... as though imob was stoping it for some reason..
