Who else is having a shit start to 2011?

I'm currently sat in hospital with my 3 week old son who's picked up some sort of infection. Monitors and drips coming out of his arms and legs. Didn't really want to be back in here cos we spent 8 days in here when he was born due to his tinyness. I knew being a parent was hard but not like this!

which hospital are you in jimmy?

my little lad was in the BRI at 12 weeks old with massive kidney infections, he was in just short of 3 weeks and was wired up to drips, monitors, feeding and breathing tubes, its terrible to watch but try and stay strong for the little fella.

if you are at the BRI and your on the childrens ward, the staff on there were fantastic with my lad, and my youngest daughter when she was in last year, they are really nice and really know there stuff.

chin up buddy im sure he'll pull through, its frightening when they are so small and helpless, but they are stronger than you ever give them credit for.

all the best to you, your missus and the little one bud.

Thanks guys. It's just gutting when you think you've got organised and into a routine and the this happens. Start questioning yourself whether bottles were sterilised properly etc. I know there's nothing we've done is wrong its that feeling you get.

Recarouk, yeah we're at BRI, on ward 17. The staff on the neonatal ward were brilliant so I know we're in good hands. It's just convincing the missus as everyone seems to have a horror story for the BRI.

no horror stories from me mate, they are spot on, my lad spent a week in Jimmys in leeds when he went for his kidney op, they were great too, but not a patch on the staff at bradford.

the rest of the hospital seems to be a joke, but the nurses and docs on the childrens ward were the nicest people and really knew what they were doing.

chin up matey, dont blame yourself, its just one of those things, im sure he'll be back home with you both in no time.
