yeah i think i get it now, and yeah i did unbolt them, pulled them and the clips snapped!!!!! so instantly thought oops mustve done sumfin wrong thts why i asked as i thought there was an easier way!!!!

The threads of the studs can get caught on the edge of the slot. Try a screwdriver under it to pry it off carefully if it's stuck or use a trim tool
