Seriously considering one. They have some good specs and are cheap.

I could also see the ruggedness being very useful as I work in construction.

Any opinions? The reviews i've read are favourable!

Depends what you want a phone for I guess.

Always used to be "up there" with Nokias etc for good phones a few years back, then kind of got left behind when colour screens and smart phones took over

No idea what they're like anymore, but they do seem good spec for the money.

Well I'm a QS so not exactly likely to abuse it that much, just using it in rain or in dusty environments which this phone is designed to do well.

I thought the specs were good and Android is good, how wrong can i go? The other thing I quite like about it is the size, slightly smaller than a blackberry and Iphone 4.

Are there any alternatives which are fully featured but small?

Wouldnt recommend a touch screen to be used in such an environment really? Constantly scratching the screen / pushing dust into crevices, do you have to wear gloves for safety reasons? Touchscreen wont work with those

Im "in construction" and I havent broke my blackberry, its in a hard case and Im just careful with it and its fine.
The tilers we use also have blackberrys and they all look brand new still.
