Z20LEH is low compression version of the X20XEV girdled bottom end with a Y22XE head with sodium filled valves.
The C20LET is the old pre ecotec engine same basic block and head as a C20XE and similar block to C20NE.

right so does that make the Z20LET more efficient as it is a ecotec effectively and is lighter due to it been newer

you could say that, but if you can get a good C20LET, recently rebuilt etc, it would whoop the arse off a Z20LET/H the newer ecotecs are pretty pants compared to the old skool stuff, less to go wrong in them. ecotecs are all full of poopy sensors!

Actually the Z20LEH/T is a much better block than the C20LET.
Its only the engine management that is the bottle neck.

so if you put a Z20LEH into say a corsa b and have something like a gotec pro ecu it would be better.as dont the \Z20LEH have better oil ways or something

how can you say that? why rebuild it?
standard clet vs standard zleh will be quicker :/
no there full of sensors so make the engine more efficent

because these engines get the shit ragged out of them, if they're not rebuilt then theres bound to be problems with them.
I used to have a astra gsi turbo, z20 let, my mate had a mk3 astra gsi, with c20let, the mk3 was faster, and more efficient on fuel, he could see 35/40mpg sometimes, whereas I would struggle to get 33/34mpg.
old skool rules. FACT

Surely the mk4 will weigh more though?
Also depends on the driver's weight, driving style and roads driven.

tbs are better mid range compared to carbs but generally both give same peak power.
all depends what your doing, dont half the clet rods, pistons, valve springs, caps, etc interchange between the two anyway?
