using take is fine, as long as it aint covering the LED itself, just use the conductors, just below the LED, to stick them.
using ure EW switched live is fine too. just use an electrical tester to find out which wire is live when the ignition is on. makre usre u try turning the ignition off though once you've foud a live to make sure it aint live when the ignition is off too!

Thanks a lot for all your help mate - learnt so much today! I'll have a go with this soon - but can't realy test it out until my EW problem is sorted. Had problem getting an EM switch today and last week - still not sorted and can't do anything with electrician guy until I have this.
I'l solder my resistors on and buy them clips now - I'll post my results up when it happens.
Cheers for all the help

Okie doke - I was in the progress of taking snaps of my EW instalation but didn't get very far! I've been driving around with bare doors all week!
Nice little pet project this to go with sanding/spraying my new tweeter surrounds (for new switches) and door pocket switch holder spraying, oh, and my final year dissertation too!
I'll keep you all in formed in the ICE section.
Thanks again.

Can you wrap the resistor up in electrical tape? I want to make the wiring nice and tidy.

i wouldnt. just wrap the wires either side of it, and leave the resistor itself uncovered. cuz it can get hot
