I KNOW I KNOW ANOTHER INSURANCE THREAD!
Just wondered (as insurance renewal date is in 5 days :/) if any of you guys are young with points and who and how much you got quoted for?

There is no such thing as cheap insurance for young drivers, nevermind young drivers with points, your gonna be best of being a named driver on another policy until your points are gone

Best thing you can do is put your parents on as named drivers, saves a few quid, whilst keeping you the main driver and earning NCB.

Had to take my mum off mine this year as the dosy cow got 2 IN10's in a year.

Does the parents on policy thing still even work? Bit of an old trick isn't it. Didn't do jack when I tried it.

Also worked for me, took around £300 off with me as the policy holder but Mum and Dad as named drivers.

She thinks that means she has a right to drive it though

Fair enough. Thing is, I already pay what I believe to be rock bottom at around £400 anyway. Can't see adding people effecting mine much at my age now

Well im 18 in 5 days and got 5 points for an A10 i think it is? A cyclist bumped the side of my car, starting mouthing me off and getting up in my face so i drove off! Stupid mistake i know but it was my first week of driving and i shat myself!

My mum makes my insurance cheaper whereas my dad as a named driver makes it go up, he has a non fault claim though but my mum has a claim which was her fault .
