I know these have always been one of those threds much like the go faster resistors found on ebay, pointless and a waste of time and money.
However whilst at a scrappy today with my mate who was collecting a car we found one lying in a engine bay so we dropped it into the car he purchased.
Is there any actual evidence that these do anything at all, what with fuel increase and all that ill lok for any way to save a few pence seeing as it was free, suposidly help with throttle response aswell.

i dont get what they even claim to do or how they do it, it goes in a vaccum pipe, very confusing how they claim to be a power boost of any kind.
save your cash and get an exhaust whistle

Dont they fit into the Brake servo vac hose?
Surely that'll loose vacume and make for shit brakes?

its a one way valve so doesnt lose any braking pressure.
they make a sound like sucking an empty glass of drink through a straw, and do absolutely nothing

Steve they allow a bit of vacuum pressure to be lost to confuse the MAF/AFM.. The brakes require that vacuum for the assistance a normally aspirated car never produces any postive intake pressure so it wouldnt matter if it was a one way valve.

They are shit - mine came with one fitted, so I closed it fully off and then forgot to remove it fully.
