Every xe is different, I beat a cammed stripped and chipped xe in my standard corsa xe and raped another standard xe... Same goes with 8v's I've seen some dogs but seen some mint ones, mate had a nova that pulled 143mph with a standard rebuilt seh

I'd say the only advantages to the 8v is its easy to work on and its a non interference engine, xe is quicker out the box and also reliable if in good condition
