I've noticed over the past week or so that I'm getting skin falling off my fingers, starting from under the tip of the nail the spreading out. On the worst finger, the area is prob about 10mm down and 20mm wide and its effected 7 of my fingers/thumbs.
Is this likely to just be a reaction to something? Such as diesel? I took the ibiza's tank off last Monday so got a fair bit of diesel on my hands from the pipes, also I was rushing at the end and didn't clean my hands thoroughly.

I get this every now and again, I find it is more likely to happen if i dont moisturise often.

it is probably from the diesel tbh.
i work in a place building diesel engines and usually have oil or diesel on my hands.
you need to wash them thoroughly and wear gloves while working.
the cold air outside probably hasn't helped either.
and as fro said, moisturise. it's not gay.
