I've been listing a few things recently from my Ibiza, but very little seems to be selling.

Has anyone got any tips for 'best' times for items to finish? Any other tips?

In my opinion eBay is only worth using for buying, selling is nothing but fucking hassle now and the fees are shocking, you're best to try and sell on the forums or other free sites.

What about the pistonheads parts section? Or gumtree just to increase the odds of interest.

Gumtree is brilliant, you could sell sand to an arab on that site.

I'm assuming you've not sold because you put a reserve on. Don't put one and it'll sell

I've had some complete and utter bargains on Sunday afternoon/evenings and sold some very cheap things for the same reason.

I personally avoid Sunday for selling.

I usually end 7pm mid week based on having played about a bit.

May also depend on category. I'm talking photography/computers/car stuff.

I sold 2 things on saturday on ebay and I am still waiting on payment. This happened last time I sold something too and I opened a dispute and nothing happened and ebay still took almost £50 in fees off me for something which didnt actually sell on ebay.

Dont think I will bother selling on there again.

Now would be the perfect time for someone to start up a site to rival eBay

I don't know if you are aware of this but if the buyer doesn't respond or pay within a set amount of time YOU have to physically "close" the case in order to get back any seller fees - they won't refund you the fees automatically!

Hundreds of people have tried and failed. The most recent to go live being 'ebitsi' which so far is also not looking good. Tesco are due to launch one this year, i'm hoping it takes off so that eBay finally have a bit of competition.
