Hi. I've been poking around here for a while, getting to know my way around the site etc. I decided to stick up a short intro about myself. I'm only young, just getting into the cars now. I was bought my first car by my Dad last April, or so. It was a Vauxhall Corsa B 1.2 8v. Nothing fancy, but beats my class mate's Honda 90. The car didn't do an awful lot, because, when the car was bought, I was not legal to drive. The car sat up for months until, after New Years Day, I got fed up looking at it rusting away. Myself, my Dad and my Granda set to work. My uncle occasionally appeared, due to his work. The car was rotten with rust, so my Granda cut out all the rust, and we filled and sprayed it. It looked great, and sounded even better with a custom exhaust.
It drew some attention. The day after it came out of the shed, I was given an €800 offer there and then, by the 90 guy.
Anyway, I have always been a fan of tuning cars, which inevitably led me here. My ultimate goal is to fit a tuned C20LET (~400BHP) into my car, with the nessesery brake/suspension mods. However, for the time being, I'm on the lookout for a C16XE.
As I've said, I'm new. I'm open to any sensible advice regarding my car. I'll try and get up some photos soon.
Thanks.

Welcome to the site
If you're young, how old? I'd be careful about getting a C20LET just yet, stick the the 1.6 like you said, so many young drivers crash and die because of it (however much you don't want to hear it).
Have you got any pics of the car? Nice one for sorting the rust out....

The guy that bought my old car stacked it and didn't survive, and that was with the 1.0 12v in it. Everyone will tell you this but take it easy.

Just goes to show that the engine isn't always everything, it is all down to the driver
