Yup, a diesel engine just burns fuel under compression rather than with a spark. It's not really anything to do with the type of fuel you put in it.

dont see how diesel has met its max

They emit lower emissions to start with compared to the same size petrol engine

Derv will be around for along time and the piezo technology for injectors is becoming more and more advanced
