If I have a car that is taxed and MOT'd, but not insured at the moment. Is it ok to have the car oarked on the road?

No if your car is on the road even if its just parked there it needs tax mot and insurance..

if you want to SORN it then it needs to be moved off the road

Car has to be insured to be parked on a public road.

If it was on private land, garage it wouldn't need to be insured.
