Had all mine changed last thursday and the mechanic at the garage said I had to do about 100 miles for them to settle anyway I've done just under 100 miles now and they sound just the same as they did before?? Anyone got any ideas??

Did you change them? What make are they? When was your oil last changed?

I've had my INA ones years, and they still sound fine, even on first start up.

Its a x16xe changed oil with the lifters and I paid 205 quid for all 16!! From a local autofactors no I took it to a garage to get them changed along with my cambelt and some other bits and bobs

Try Autovaux next time bud. Did you see what make they are?

If I was you, check to make sure the belt has been done. Are you sure it's the tappets making the noise?

No mate they were just sorta in a like plastic try and didn't have no name/make on them yeh mate its definately the lifters..the bloke that's done the bits on my car mate does my dads car all the time so he's not robbed me or oat like that

whats crack with ebay ones no good they are cheap £70 for x16xe was going to get some myself

152 a set, i bought some through martin bowyer for £100 and there quiet tbf. cant remember make though, but sure i can find out!

i didnt do the change mate so i couldnt say plus i looked through my oil filler cap and theirs signs of wear on the cams...

shims? on hydraulics? :confused:

it could well be the cams re so worn been the new lifters will be noisy, but its doubtful, cheap/unbranded lifters are always noisy ime
