I need to lay my hands on some financial accounts of small companies, preferably sole traders or partnerships, and was wondering if anybody here could help, either pointing me in the right direction on the web, or sending me some that they have to hand.
thanks y'all

I'd do my nut if I found out my accountant had passed my accounts to a random on the internet tbh.

That's my problem, larger companies have to make them public but it is finding smaller companies to compare them to that is causing me no end of bother, it's all good honest uni work I promise.

Its nothing to do with the size of a compnay, its the fact they are companies they are filed at COMPANIES house.
Sole traders accounts / partnerships (excluding LLPs) are not public information (as there are no shareholders). Accounts are prepared to be submitted to the revenue only. You'll be looking for these for a while

Yes, why do you need them?
Get some Limited company accounts, you won't find any sole traders that would be willing to send you them.

Because sole traders like to claim a lot 'tax free'?
Lunch? Yeah I needed that? New Jeans? Yeah - work clothes

I need to do an essay comparing the features of the accounts from different companies, sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, clubs etc. commenting on how their end of year financial statements differ. I just need to make a comparison between these different sorts of companies, using real examples where possible.
Any help would be great, I've given up the ghost on looking for sole traders and partnerships now, but any limited company accounts or club accounts would be fantastic.

Surely you don't need figues etc then? Just need to compare what is needed on the accounts?

That's great thanks, I don't need the figures for the first part, but for the second part I need to calculate different ratios based on my findings, to create a set of final accounts.
Cheers for all this, and those sample accounts are just the ticket for what I'm doing atm.

you'll only really get limited companies accounts as said already sole traders/partnerships will be a b*tch seen as they dont have to be made public so its just acase of getting friendly with some business owners to ask for a copy of them, accountants wouldnt give them you and if they did and someone found out they'd be royally funked .
