I only do about £35 a week just for me and everything comes from M&S
Fresh veg, multi-buys on chilled stuff which is on offer and chuck all the extra stuff in the freezer when I get home. A few pre-prepared meals, but they're far more expensive than stuff you make at home.
Although, I do usually end up going for a work lunch once a week so don't want dinner at home, and another night go to Dads for dinner so guess that makes up the £15 to what everyone else is spending.

No it doesn't.

I lived on my own for 3 years, a £1 pizza is a lot cheaper of a meal than anything healthy, unless you're constantly eating silly meals like porridge, a cooked egg or lettuce :/

whilst that is true, i also find the shit cheap meals don't feel you up as much and you end up eating twice as much as when you make a proper meal.

Me and the mrs spend around £30-£35 a week. As I do bodybuilding that includes lots of meat inc a big meal every night and enough food for around 3500 calories a day.
Two tips:
- Have a list inc what you're having for dinner and tea each day.
- Don't go shopping when you're hungry.

My meals cost about £1.50 a go. Though I do prefer my eggs cooked and I do enjoy a nice salad for lunch.

The misses and i shop online with Tesco, and unless we are re-stocking with alcohol or having a couple of 'fancier' meals during the week our shopping bill very rarely goes over £40-45.
Most of that food is fruit and veg, very rarely any crap. Though what does help is the quarterly run to Costco to buy bulk meat that sees us through a few months!

me and the missus used to spend about £50-£60 every week but since she has been on a diet since last november we have been eating a lot more sensibly
we dont buy any junk anymore and bill is now around £35 every week. we still eat decent meals but just no snacking on crap
and hats off to the person who said dont go shopping when hungry. ive done this a few times and just spend a fortune on cakes and biscuits
