i would run an XE. most of them up here are rammers, plus is a change from a redtop. if and when i do. think my goal would be to outrun a redtop. maybe a bit ambitious........

Its not different nowadays.

XE/LET/SEH etc are all common conversions.

Its more down to budget.

Could get an SEH and tune it to XE power with a cam, exhaust, chip etc,but then the over-all cost would be more than what it would be fitting an XE.

Im not a fan of the SEH,don't like how it looks in the Corsa engine bay.Looks old and tatty. Not to mention the sound of the XE with a 2" system and de-cat is like nothing else.Has the distinctive valver twang.

Only time i would pick an SEH is if i was planning a home-brew turbo build.

I say, if you've got the 2.0 8v motor already then fit it, but if not and you have to source one just source an XE

fair doos, they might not look hell of a tidy under the bonnet. but nothing like a lick of paint, polished rocker and a couple of fancy bits wont sort out. and as for carbs! if i could get someone to set them up! then yeah that would superb

Yeah, like others have said, pretty hard to find a c20seh engine now a days, best of buying a donor car if you can find one of those as well lol.

TBH the SEH sounds much better than the redtop, much deeper....the redtop sounds pretty raspy and gay tbh.

Is there a way of telling between SEH and NE?
