As titled, Does insuring an import vary to a UK model? Anyone ever insured an import? Is there anything drastically different involved?

Would have been cheaper for me to insure a JDM 350z over a UK one for some reason

Usually when you tick the import button it adds extra for me anyway

with John,
Import is traditionally more expensive than normal UK models. My Mx5 went up because it was a Eunos not a Uk spec but i didnt realise when i viewed it.
there the same on everything yet it cost me an extra £100
mr2 is no comparable due to there being no UK turbo models

as for beign grp 20....i've never heard that and i'm certainly not paying enough insurance if that is the case!

Not that I have to justify myself to a grumpy old man but the best quote I got so far was from a specialist for a UK model. I have to call them and go through numerous options to get a quote so to save a little time and to get a rough idea, thought I'd post on here to gain a little feedback. Sir

Just ring A-Plan & Keith Michaels. They're usually the best with that kind of thing as long as you're over 25.

Was £300 more expensive for me to insure a similar Eunos to my UK MX5
