whats the best thing to use for cleaning the ICV on my Passat 1.8t?

i have asked around on passatWorld and UkPassats but all the old men are sleeping still!!!

I used petrol on mine Did the trick

see i thought about that but wasnt sure...

shall i use a Microfibre cloth or some sort or rag?

Carb cleaner/ cellulose thinners or WD40 if you're struggling

I used a tooth brush and let dry in the sun.

I have no idea what i'm doing though Sorted out my idle revvy issues though. I'm changing brake discs and pads next

Red diesels great for cleaning stuff. Took off an egr valve and let it soak in some for a while and fairly sorted it

I used carb cleaner and a tooth brush, did the trick on my corsa.was idling erratically but that seemed to sort it out.Shot the spring off it into some grass by accident mind haha that was fun searching for that while it was going dark!
