Going to PVS on Saturday was the longest trip I'd taken the Corsa on since owning it. Santa Pod is 150 miles from where I live (Southampton) so I thought I'd tank my car and see how good it would be on fuel.

I put £55 in about 45litres and got to Santa Pod on a quarter of a tank. Taking it steady. On the way home on Sunday we sat about 85mph the whole way home and used a bit more than on the way up.

None the less I didnt need to put any fuel in untill last night after going to and from work. I covered 350 miles to £55 which I think is pretty good! I'm taking the Corsa to the Nurburgring next month so was a good test to see how much fuel i'm gonna do.

What do other people get to a full tank? Is mine about right?

They're very good on petrol when not heavy footed.

My xe easily got more to a tank than my 1.6, and a lot of people have also experienced the same

my XE is'nt bad on fuel (although it is stripped bare)

i had just over half a tank, took it steady to the pod, had 6 runs over the day and had a play on the way home

i live 50mins-hour away and have just under a 1/4 of a tank left, was well chuffed when i realised lol

My carb isn't too bad lol, although only having four gears on the motorway doesnt help. I drive slow as anything to save fuel, even if I did put the foot down we wouldn't be moving anywhere quickly sure.

My Astra GTE 16v was great on fuel, the extra weight of the Cavs would bring the MPG down a bit

Im just not use to it. For the last couple of years ive been buzzing if ive done 30 mpg in any of my cars . I cant imagine what it must be like to have a car that does 60 mpg, when im use to seeing 25-27 on the clock on the time

My 1.8 is over fueling. I used £65 to do 370 miles. Does need a good service so going to do that first and see where we are at. I can live with that though as it's not my main car.
