I can't remember ever opening stuff at the collection point either. Was 4/5 years ago now though so I may have forgotten.
Either way, I didn't give a shit. They treated staff like crap so I gave out refunds without question.

They are too good! I work in one of their distribution warehouses, and at christmas the amount of chairs and table sets which are sold is about three times more than any other time of year, yet come a week after christmas, half of them are coming back to the warehouse, seems people buy them and use them for having family over, then send them back

just returned it. went in and some short fat bird served me, very nice well spoken girl.
told her the screen as freezing and i had already bought a replacement so wanted a refund.
2 minutes later and boom, all sorted
