looking to buy some champagne and wondered what people can recommend?

i don't really drink enough to know the difference, and don't drink wine either.

maybe a magnum bottle, up to £100?

Or just get in a half case of Lindaur. It's nicer than some Champagnes.

you think? I was underwhelmed by the hype of Dom Perignon; there are far better out there

Laurent Perrier Grande Siecle is cheaper and nicer IMO

Not a big fan but Laurent Perrier us my personal fave. Crystal is absolute wank though, can't believe it is so expensive.

Agreed, the ex had to get it in the hotel a couple of years back when a few big film starts were staying there whilst they were filming Robin Hood in the area - really couldn't see the appeal of it given the price.

Veuve is definitely the best option IMO

My Missus is some sort of champagne Connoisseur



She's even got the glasses

Twas nice that though, and you get to keep the nicely painted bottle as a keepsake


And yes, that is No1 cat being a nosy fokker

Not really a massive fan of Champagne but Veuve is by far the nicest tasting of all I've tried!

Bollinger is bloody tasty. The thing with champagne is if it's cheap it will taste like crap.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that, Cristal has to be one of the most foul tasting Champagnes I've ever tried

There are exceptions Moe, but he's right, most will taste like garbage.

Plus it's all sparkling wine unless it's from the Champagne region.


Lansom is a good "cheap" champagne


Bolinger is my fave, I've never been lucky enough to have some Don P or Cristal, but I have had some seriously expensive shit that was well matured and whilst it was very nice, I'd take the Bolly any day
