NASA will use Soyuz and private companies. Ares (including the rest of the constellation program; Orion has been brought back to be used as an escape module for ISS) was to replace the Shuttle but it was scrapped last year due to budget constraints.

Basically a capsule that has parachutes and floats back to earth.
