What settings did you use? I tried taking pics at a mates gig and they were really bright with flash and too dark without

Cant remember now without looking at the exif. I metered manually though.

At a wild guess try 1/90th at f2.8 but thats a massive shot in the dark ('scuse the pun)!!
edit: that was using my 200mm f2.8 lens.

Ok thanks. I think I have sussed it. The manual doesn't tell you much other than what each setting does, doesn't give any tips as such! Turns out the internet isn't all that great after all as a such brought up some very dubious settings!
