Right, after removing the rear boot strip on my 206 (P1 with the badge in favour of a P2 strip without the badge) ive noticed that the badge has left a sort of step down in the paint/lacquer.

Now is it possible to remove this (or most of it) and blend it in with some fine wet and dry??

Sounds like the cars had a quick respray and they haven't bothered to remove the trim, I'd put the old trim back on and leave it be.

Its not bad enough to bother me tbh, but is noticeable when up close.

Might try a bit T-cut or some cutting compound.

Use some 1500 wet and dry wet then give it a good polish up with some g3 on a buffer and then polish with your choice of polish.

if the car is silver just 2000 wet it down and use an aggressive compound like G3,
If you have an little local bodyshops just run in and ask if someone could polish it out for like a tenner as bottle of g3 is fairly expensive
