As some of you know I'm doing a turbo build for my 1.4 8v SRI

I have decided on almost all parts I need so far

Looking at getting the fllowing

2.25" boost pipes
intercooler
manifold or adapted manifold
turbo
boost gauge
dump valve
decompression plate
vacuum hoses
management

I am still deciding how to have compression to have it either 9.0:1, 8.8:1 or 8.5:1

I will be running somewhere around 10psi of boost

How do you work out compression and what boost you can run?

Standard compression is 10.0:1 providing head hasnt been skimmed and using the right head gasket

If I use a 1.5MM decompression plate this will lower compression to 8.5:1, Or a 1MM decompression plate would be 9.0:1

With boost its hard to say what you can run at what compression but I wouldnt run high boost unless I used forged pistons to be honest

Also had a few packages today too

Can you guess what they are?

First is a reducer to go from the inlet to the boost pipes

Secondly is a dump valve T piece

Third one is my silver baileys dump valve

So parts I have here so far are....

Hopefully get some more packages and parcels within the next few days

Yea good luck. So are all cars 10.1 to start with... N/A cars? I guess that differs?

Personally I would of keept the CR a little higher and ran less boost, Thus less lag and more power off boost.

John - around 10 is normal for a vauxhall, Some other manufacturers run higher or lower, It just depends. Factory turbo cars are normally between 8 and 9.

What CR would you be looking at running? I think 8.8:1 would even things out to be honest and then it will be down to what turbo I use

It's all down to the management, But I will be starting the project with a piggyback ecu and then upgrade at a later date after everything is setup and running right

Cool stuff, Yeah its the coilpack C14SE, I am looking into using a Dastek Unichip Q to control the fueling

Even with the trick switch don't you need to have it remapped anyway?

Oh right cool stuff mate! Been quoted £650 for Dastek Unichip Q with fitting and mapping so might look into standalone management
