at the moment i only have a 5 step ladder and no fitted loft ladders. i thought these are a good idea because of the space saving ability, but they don't look very safe, compared to standard ladders.

they seem quite cheap on ebay, compared to the diy shops:

I got given one of these the other day. Not had the chance to use it properly. Nearly crushed my fingers closing it though

They are quite heavy for the size of it too.

yeah 12kg's did seem a bit on the heavy side but at least that means it's probably quite stable.

It seems sturdy enough. Will be handy for me too, can't fit a large ladder in the caddy.

I like that style a lot. Our work paid about 3 times as much for some decent ones but they're top quality. Much easier to chuck in the back of the car and quickly extend on site than the crap we used to have.

my boss has some of these for work. theyre shit. very unsteady when u have them folded out to make one long ladder.
also the clips to close them up break and hes also had one of the steps break. other than that theyre very handy to put in a car

I like these alot!

When I was plumbing I hated using normal steps for getting into lofts and shizzle as they only take you so high then you have to try and get in somehow which can be a struggle. These made life 10x easier for me, straight into the roof space One of the lads who worked there was about 20stone and they never failed on him so there pretty strong

Can be awkward closing them down though if you have small hands.
