On the x14xe and x16xe engines, can you separate the yellow part of the oil cap from the black bit? I think i seen it done before not sure

yes you can, just pops off, only two clips hold it together

i always wondered this too, painted my yellow bit to match the car now so dont think il bother.

Cheers mate, yeah i painted mine black but now ive got a powerbox it just looks stupid without the plastic cover

I did this originally, but eventually got bored of it being so hard to get out, so painted the cap and put it back.
