thats what iv been saying from the start of the thread lol
yeah haha i see that now.. but see the two pics of the first page do you not think the caliper looks slightly closer on the first wheel than the 2nd?
yes because mine has the outside edge of the caliper grinded back so theres abit more clearance, there both 288mm brakes

Smaller Calipers than the V6 ones you get on 288/308mm setups though
With this thread, its not so much the disc size thats the issue, its the whole kit - a 308mm kit won't fit under 15s due to the fat bastard calipers as mentioned...

As said biggest you can get behind them is 300mm reg ands but they are 1k + standard vaux brakes that will fit is 288. No way would you get 308's in they barely fit without the caliper

Stick with 256mm 2.0l set up, the bigger calipers give a crap pedal feel.

1.6 Corsa's have 256x20 discs and 2.0 have 256x24 discs.
The 2.0 calipers are also quite a bit bigger than 1.6 items.
V6 calipers give a shite pedal feel, Turbo calipers don't.They bite as soon as you hit the pedal.

unless your going for big power i wouldnt bother upgrading to big discs, 16 brakes are good enough unless you have a redtop in your corsa go for 256mm or if you have something like a v6 or let in it go for 288mm or 308mm onwards

thing is i want big brakes because i want to be able to stop well and the brakes on my car the disks are warped so instead of replacing them and then upgrading later i may as well just upgrade now .. i like the v6 brakes thats the look i going for

if you can get the turbo calipers then go for it. got them on my corsa and like corsa_sport21 says. soon as you touch the pedal your stopping hard lol. no sponge or travel before your slowing down...you just stop haha

I wouldn't overlook brakes just down to not having big power...
I didn't find my 1.6 brakes good enough when mine still ran an near standard X14XE - and I upgraded TO them from the 236x20mm discs the car had originally.
Granted, the 1.6 setup seemed alright for road use, but didn't like work on track!
Anyway,
The 292mm setup I've pictured is easily one of the best things I have bought for mine - the 1.6 Calipers with the smaller pistons bite well, and with the disc being much larger (and the caliper moved out to suit) they work really well to stop the car. Never had any issues with them on road, and they have been faultless on the track - no over braking, inbalance, instability or skittishness whatsoever. Well worth the £101 I paid for them, brand new!
And I was using the Big discs when I still had the lower powered lump in mine...

i find the 1.6 brakes "ok" .. thats coming up from a 1l but i would prefer better and as i mentioned my brakes are almost done so may as well upgrade instead of replace then upgrade pater . two birds with one stone and all that
