Now im looking at a Current account? for my business, but which one?

My personal is with HSBC and i want to keep it that way. Not overly keen on them!

So for my Business i was thinking:

Abbey
Natwest
Loyds
Barcleys

Thoughts?

Pros/Cons?

Barclays.

My local business manager has been pretty good with advice and setting up other accounts for me when I started my company up last year.

Got 18 months free banking with them too.

Edit - even opened up a personal account with them too as I was fed up with shitty Halifax.

Aye, my personal is with them. Took literally 5 min to set that up too

After free banking period Im only getting charged for counter services. Don't use the counter at all really so it's still free

Yes it's pretty awesome being able to manage business and personal accounts from the one screen.

I wish I didn't have to use counter services - get paid in cash and cheques a lot of the time.

I use lloyds. Very happy with it. Two years free banking. They also use a card reader which is brilliant for security.

Does faster payments as well now

My experience is completely opposite. I bank personally with Barclays but the business side was terrible, loads and loads of forms and no one to help filling them in, ended up ripping them up in the branch after waiting again for more things.

HSBC had it set up within an hour of me walking in there. Business guy wasn't based at that branch but came up especially, cup of tea while I waited, credit and debit cards, online stuff worked straight away. Absolutely first class.

Was pretty much the same with me for lloyds. Get a personal bank manager as well who I can contact for problems.

Internet based stuff with HSBC is great yes.

But i was trying to walk away from my HSBC Credit card really!

The only way im looking at it atm, which is the easiest to get to and park on my local high St, That would be Barclays for me. Because at the end of the day i dont have the time to be down the bank when i could be on the tools earning the money to go into it.

I suppose it's luck of the draw really on what your branch is like.

I know all the counter staff at mine and even have the number for the branch so I don't have to phone the call centre up in India

Santander's handy because you can pay cash in at the Post Office. Much easier for us than trying to park in town.

I don't know what they're like for setting up an account though.

I get cash also, but luckily able to pay a main supplier cash also so saves on costs.

Just ask folk to pay via bank transfer, most are happy to in my experience.

Dan, barclays also use a card reader and have a business manager for you in your area.

Tbh when I looked into it, as all my transactions are online it was pretty much pick Anyone as they all were nearly the same.

I do like the new faster payments now though. Very helpful.

Exactly that, barclays were utter shit just trying to sort an appointment for me. They changed it 3 times, each time calling me an hour before our arranged appointment to say they need me to get to another branch(from the one we arranged) at the same time. useless fucks

I now use natwest and seem alright so far, also got 2 years free banking...

My dad uses Santander and he gets free business banking for life.. only problem being you can speak to staff in a branch and have to put your cash into a deposit box that prints you a receipt. the branch staff will not help you with anything though
