I need to buy a good set to replace all the shit ones I've got.

Anybody got any recommendations on brands/sets to go for?

Just need philips/flat head style ones, already got a good hex set.

I've got a decent set of Stanley's which I got from a tool place near me

You can get them off eBay I put in Stanley screwdriver cushion grip and they came up you can get a 8 peice set for £11 upwards

Wera sets are good. Comfy to use and there still like new after about 2 years with occasional use.

I have a set of Stanley ones, Got them from B&Q a few years ago, still going strong and havn't aged or worn at all!

Also keep hold of the old ones for if you need to do any bashing or prying with a screwdriver!

I really like my Facom ones at work, everything else i try doesnt seem to match them. They are getting a bit bash after 6 years now though.

i have halfords pro ones, keep an eye out for special deals and you can get them pretty cheap, same for some of the small rachets with screwdriver heads etc. love my tiny set i pointed out on here a while back.

Yeah I used to have a Halfords socket set, was pretty good IIRC, shame as I lost the bloody toolbox they were in and bought some Draper Expert ones online to replace them.

only thing i don't like with the halfords ones are some tight/seized screws get chewed up by them, as they aren't a true phillips type head (something like that anyway)

i use them for most things though

If you are using them for working on the car it'll be worthwhile to pick up a PH1 and PH2 while you're there, car manufacturers don't seem to use pozi much.

Pozidrive screws have another smaller groove in-between each of the four main ones, better for driving with a cordless. google images will probably explain better.
