That's what i thought... I have just typed a registration to two different corsa c sxi 1.2's into the DVLA's website and its saying the following...
Vehicle Excise Duty rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £90.75
12 Months Rate £165.00
WTF?
Can anyone confirm this?

To make it even stranger, my Corsa B 1.4 16V is the following...
Vehicle Excise Duty rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £71.50
12 Months Rate £130.00
Am i missing something here? How does that make sense?

It's a Corsa C SXI 1.2 16V 2002...
Looking at the parkers website it seems if the registration date is between 1 Mar 2001 - 9 Jun 2003 it is actually £90.75...
9 Jun 2003 - 1 Aug 2004 its £73...
That's bullshit

The B is pre-2001 which is when they changed it all. Before 2001 the only tax bands where 1.5 and under or 1.6 and over. After 2001 it works off emissions

Facelift Corsa C's with the Twinport engine has cheaper tax due to lower emissions.
I just paid £90 for 6 months on the Fiesta. 12 months was £165. Never known a difference of £15 between 2 x 6 months and 12 months. Didn't it used to be £5 or something?

I wouldn't say it was that much of a rip-off, my 2005 1.4 is the same price tax as my old 1999 1.2 because of it, it's just the pre-2003 Corsa Cs that are expensive

It is a rip off to say your road tax dosent specifically goto the roads. Your local council are in charge of road repairs out of their budget. Think government just do the big stuff like motorways.
