Those Vitaras are pretty good on fuel for a 4x4. Just not sure on the towing capabilities.

you have a good idea of reliable cars you bought an alfa.... strong work.

i done 22k in my Ibiza had no problems whatsoever, clutch was slipping after the remap so a new dual mass and clutch.

Uprated the brakes to 312's, some polybushes and coilovers and done an open pit trackday at oulton in it too, again no issues.

Big into my VAG's, PD diesels are a solid motor! whether it be a golf, bora etc... can be had for peanuts too.

And I've done 33k of not-a-foot-wrong milage in the Alfa... The Alfa has proved to be far far far more reliable than the Ibiza ever was. The Ibiza left me stranded in a dogging layby on the A3 one.

I'd suggest a car thats capable of towing.

BUT with money you save from the Puma (tax/MOT etc) you'd prob need to take the additionnal trailer test, buy a trailer etc.

A nice TD BMW touring

I had a 1.3 diesel Punto for a week recently in Spain with the same engine as the Corsa. Awful engine. It's so crap and unrefined. Like a diesel engine from 20 years ago. Actually thought it was a bit dangerous with how slow it was. Noisey too. Really good on fuel though.
