Right, i've had an interview for a new job which requires me to use my own car to visit clients.

Unfortunatley i'm currently rocking a stunning r reg 1.7 d ls 5 door corsa.

Its in canny nick, no major rust or scratches, just fitted new water pump and its working great.

So, whats that worth? I've got about 400quid i can stick on top to get something a bit smarter? Thinking if poss post 2001 and low co emissions for tax or pre 2001 and less than 1350cc?

Was thinking vectra / mondeo diesel? Other options?

Not the usual big bucks car finding thread, but this is our 2nd car, the mrs has the fusion for carting the bairn about in so need to keep costs down with 2nd car.

For an old small engine car you can't beat a golf or polo due to them being ultra reliable and high build quality, downside is they sell for good money because of that

Aye would like a bora tdi or similar but cant be had for that sort of money.

Dont know why but im not a fan of the golf. Pref want something at least golf /astra sized though.

Bora for 800 maybe a high milleage 1.6 with shittest spec

Probs be a mk4 astra, or a vectra i think.

Whats the corsa worth? £450?

MK4 Astra 1.8 would be my choice (preferably Z18XE)

Mierans rite there. astra g. wouldn't even have to be the 1.8, 1.6 would be fine.

i got a 2001 astra g 1.4ls black in decent condition with loads of test and a bit of tax for £600ish but the 1.4 died shortly after

I got an astra and although i put it up for sale 3 times i decided against selling it in the end. its too good to let go of
