When my sister started up as a child minder, she had to have teddys/dolls in the house including a black coloured one. Golliwog wasn't allowed though

I found a shop in Cambridge a few years back selling them!

My sister and dad used to collect the badges and tokens from the jars!

People need to stop moaning about a toy/jam mascot that has been around longer than most of them have even been born!

Indeed.
There was a fair bit of fuss in the late seventies about them being racist, in fact I believe the derogatory term 'wog' was derived from them.
