sorted the bearing now... smashed the outer bearing out
turns out it was stuck on the stub axle, so i managed to get the drum off with the centre part of the bearing still on the stub, took the stub axle upto the garage, clamped it in a vice and gave it some persuasion...
job done

the drum is a good 5m thick, any time I've ever had a stuck drum hitting either side of it has worked every time. only reson I wouldn't do it is if the drums were painted. Why would you say you shouldn't do it?
