Depends how valuable the car is. If it's just a cheap run about I wouldn't be so bothered. Also depends how badly damaged it was in the first place. Rather buy a crash damaged one and get it repaired myself than take someone elses word for it.

Or is it because you most likely own fuck all and probably dont have a penny to scratch your arse with that you cant get your head around the fact other people do? .Its a forum where advise is given and if i can relate to a thread ill post to give my advise . Its certain people like you why this site is going down the shit pan. i can quite easily get a pic of the rs but what am i going to prove? i may also have pics somewhere of the 09 focus again it will achive nothing .

so back to original subject buy the damaged motor , you can see to full extent the damage . A lot can get covered up when they are 'repaired'

I thought it sounded a bit like a rant.

And we did never see the car.

I've bought them in the past and will continue to do so. Never run one as a main car though, although that's probably more to do with not finding one than not wanting to.

One thing I would say is that buying them online you really don't get a good idea of the condition and it's usually worse.

Might look like its panels when in fact the pillar is bent. I had a front end that looked like it only wanted a bumper when in fact the sump and mount are cracked, shaft is popped out etc.

Insurance pay outs are much less on cat c and d cars as well.

Baza stop talking shit and post up a pic. It takes 30 seconds. The reason people dont believe you is because you havent posted a pic, which 99.9% of people would do if they got a mk2 focus rs with repairable damage for peanuts.

you also pay much less?

You're not buying the car to crash and make a profit on the payout?

blablabla, I didn't actually have one, you are correct.

There is obviously money to be made from it, if only from the number of people on here who either have already done or would buy one.

solf two in the past.

The look fine, drive fine and no one would ever know, just plan on it taking 6x longer and more effort to sell than the none cat'd car, and also taking a loss.

I'd buy one. Shit myself everytime it made a funny noise, never bother to find out what noise was and just pretend it's meant to be there.

my old clio sport got crashed several times, i sold it and bought it back being a cat c, got it back on the road and had a volvo go down the side of me and the insurance fixed it that time, if its at the right price a cat c/d doesnt bother me at all, as long as its had a proper repair then who cares?
if you can find one really cheap that hasnt been repaired i would buy that and get the work done yourself, you know that way that its not been bodged!

My Corsa C was a Cat C, but was dirt cheap

I bought it in 2009, 44k, on a 04 plate, was the 1.8 SRi, it also had the half leather SXi+ interior (which at the time was worth £400+)

I paid £2,000 for the car

I run it for a year and sold, they were doing around £4500 with stantard interior, i advertised for £3795, went within 2 weeks for full asking price.
