Took my hid kit out fine noo problem, put standard headlights in and all there doing is smoking and burning, anyone know of the problem? Any help is grateful

i know it sounds stupid but did you clean the bulbs? if theyve been in storage they could have collected crap. also if you have cleaned them using any fluid, it could just be that evaporating. best thing is to clean the bulbs with alcohol wipes, let any vapour evaporate from the bulb and re-fit

They were brand new? When it smokes it smells off burning rubber

Yeah took everything linked with the hid kit out, the lights don't start burning/smoking untill they go into the headlamp...
