fucking hell, I once went to Camden with my ex to get her hair braided (fucking awful) at the market and it took fucking hours!
It was dark by the end and I was sent to a cash point to take out a hundred quid to pay for it..... never been more scared! Dodgy guys watched me take out the money and followed all the way back to the market.
One guy squared up to me, I was literally shitting my pants and ready to die.
He said "Want any weed mate?"

Kerry - some ideas for the day:
Start at Westminster Bridge and walk along the SOuth Bank up to Tower Bridge and into the Tower of London then back through the city (youll see London Eye, the theatre/artsy part, Tate Modern, St Pauls, Millenium Bridge, Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, Borough Market, The Shard, City Hall, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, the Gherkin, Heron Tower, Lloyds building, NatWest building (Tower 42) and stop at Le Coq D'Argent for cocktails overlookign The City)
Or
Take a train from CC to Greenwich where you have the park, National Maritime Museum, Queen Annes House, Royal Naval COllege and also Greenwich market
Or
Go to South Kensington and wander around there and possibly the Kings Road, take a walk up Exhibition Rd takign in the NHM, Science Museum and V&A Museum and then up to the Royal Albert hall, Albert memorial and Hyde Park. Can stop by High St. kensington and go to Kensington Roof Gardens for a drink
OR
Start at South Bank, cross Westminster Bridge, go upo Whitehall, through Horse Guards Parade, upo The Mall, past Buck Hosue, up Constitution Hill, into Hyde Park, down Oxford st, down Regent st, to Piccadilly Circus, to Leicester Sq, to Chinatown, to Covent Gdn and then to Trafalgar Sq - you will see every main touristy part of London on that walk but it will take 4/5 hours

option 1 is wicked but obv can get very cold and windy down by the river so not always a good idea if its a cold day and last option is what i do whenever i have friends or family visiting as you wil literally see everything (apart from I guess Tower Bridge and St Pauls) in one walking tour
Also dont forget the bus tours, they are spot on tbh - esp the light cream and green ( : boggle: ) ones which are the sort of "official but not really" ones :S
problem with the bus tours in london though is its too big a city to hop on and off all day, you woudlnt get through everything!

Anywhere around Jubilee Gardens (can get off at Embankment) north/around to Waterloo Bridge/National Theatre is pretty good this time of year; a few decent bars and restaurants (Riverfront Bar off the BFI is good; sit in a deck chair with a drink), streets acts plus the Christmas market.

Tbh its would be better to go for two days. There is a lot to see and you'll be supprised how much time one thing can take up. once you've included eatting etc you'll have seen barely anything.

one day is fine so long as you plan things in an orderly fashion. The tube is great but people are always shocked how long it takes to get from place a to place b (once you factor in walkign to tube station, waling to platform, waiting for train, exiting station, gettong to place b - unlpess you going central to central, almost ALWAYS 40 mins lol) so if you plan things in diff parts of london, you will come unstuck. otherwise fine. plus not like kerry is far away wither so if she spots things she might like to visit, can add them to the next visit
