Of course it matters

I'm confident that I could rebuild the engine in a Bugatti Veyron, it's just an engine at the end of the day, nuts and bolts.

I wouldn't even attempt it though, in case it went wrong!

The value of the engine is a key factor when it comes to the worth of the work involved IMO.

Although yes, if you had the skills to do a Veyron I'd say go for it.

A BMW mass produced engine though isn't quite the same thing IMO.

Brand new, if you've got enough money to buy one, you probably won't care.

The price you can get them for a couple of/few years later though, you probably do care.

Plus Inspection 2 at an Independant Dealer isn't as much as 1k I don't think. Bare in mind the engine oil alone on these cars is £70, the diff oil is 2.5 litres at £75, it's easy to see where the figures come from

Thanks mate. Going to do it on mine as its a bit tappy but not sure if it's the cams.
